CJM Leh gets addl charge

Leh:The Department of Law and Justice, Union Territory of Ladakh, has entrusted the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Leh with additional responsibilities. The CJM has been assigned the charge of Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Leh, in addition to his existing duties.
The decision, formalized through a notification issued on September 28, 2024, supersedes previous notifications and comes under the authority of Section 4 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. The order, issued by Shashi Kant Bhagat, Secretary of the Department of Law and Justice, emphasizes that the new arrangement takes effect immediately.
This move is seen as part of the administration's efforts to streamline the juvenile justice system in the region.
