Jammu: The Union Territory of Ladakh has announced an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees from the existing 50% to 53% of the basic pay. The revised DA will be effective retrospectively from July 1, 2024.
This decision follows the Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. The updated allowance applies to the basic pay as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix and excludes any special pay components.
The enhanced DA will remain a separate element of remuneration and will not be considered as pay under Fundamental Rule 9(21). Fractions of 50 paise and above will be rounded off to the next rupee, while amounts below 50 paise will be disregarded.
This order, approved by the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, is set to benefit a significant number of government employees in the region.
