Rahul should clear Cong stand on PAGD during his visit to Jammu: Varinderjeet
JAMMU: Member of Parliament & former President of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Rahul Gandhi, should make public his party’s stand on People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), when he visits Jammu on September 09, so that the people can know as to who stands where.
In a press statement, Vice-President of Jammu & Kashmir BJP, S. Varinderjeet Singh, said this while stating that PAGD is an unholy alliance between the regional political parties, which are struggling hard for their survival and openly challenging the sovereignty of the Parliament of India by demanding the restoration of Article-370 in Jammu & Kashmir.
S. Varinderjeet Singh said that the Parliament of India is supreme and it has the power to amend, enact new law or remove any Article incorporated in the constitution with the consent of both the Houses. The present government has repealed Article-370 through the laid down legal and constitutional procedure and every India should respect it.
The BJP leader said that the local leadership of Congress has adopted a silence on the issue and there are doubt in the minds of people as different theories are being floated on Congress' approach towards PAGD. In such a situation, it becomes all the more important to let people know the stand of Congress and Rahul Gandhi should use his visit to Jammu to tell people whether his party is with PAGD or against it.
