Apni Party leader Muntazir extends support to Omar Abdullah in Budgam

Urges people to rally behind former CM

SRINAGAR: In a significant political development ahead of the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Apni Party leader Muntazir Mohiuddin has announced his support for the National Conference (NC) candidate Omar Abdullah in the Budgam constituency.
The move is seen as a crucial endorsement for Omar Abdullah, one of the prominent faces in J&K politics, and comes at a pivotal time for the National Conference.
Addressing the media in Budgam, Muntazir Mohiuddin explained his decision, stating that his primary motivation was the need for a strong, experienced leader to represent the people of Budgam and fight against the unjust policies impacting Jammu and Kashmir.
He emphasized that Omar Abdullah, with his extensive political experience and proven leadership, is the best person to address the region's current challenges.
“The people of Kashmir have been stripped of their rights, and it’s crucial to elect a leader who can restore what’s been lost. After deep consultation with my friends and well-wishers, I withdrew my nomination papers in favour of Omar Abdullah. Everyone agreed that supporting the former Chief Minister is the right step for the people of Budgam,” Mohiuddin remarked.
Mohiuddin’s decision to back Omar Abdullah signals a strategic shift within local politics, as he urged his supporters and the people of Budgam to unite behind the NC candidate.
"Omar Abdullah is the voice of the voiceless. His leadership and unwavering stance against the central government’s policies have made him a rock for the people of Kashmir. Now more than ever, Budgam needs a leader of his calibre," he said.
Muntazir Mohiuddin also highlighted Omar Abdullah’s past contributions as the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. Under his leadership, several key initiatives were launched that directly benefited the region's people. Omar Abdullah worked to uplift Jammu and Kashmir during his tenure, from infrastructure development to social welfare programs. Mohiuddin believes that Omar’s return to an active leadership role would greatly boost Budgam.
