Missing drug addict found in Gujjar’s hut
Jammu: Two distinct incidents involving a suspected sex racket and a case of drug addiction came to light in Jammu on Friday.
However, investigation is under process but no action has been taken due to lack of evidences.
In the first incident, locals from the Channi Rama area accused a woman of running a brothel.
Responding to complaints, BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa visited the area and personally took the woman, suspected of operating the racket, to the Narwal Police Post.
A police team also reached the spot and took her into custody for questioning.
However, by late Friday night, police officials stated that no concrete evidence had been found to support the allegations.
Despite the grievances of the locals, the absence of actionable proof has hindered further legal proceedings. Police questioning of the woman is still underway.
In the second incident, a 28-year-old man, Ajay Kumar, who had been missing for over a month, was discovered in a Gujjar’s hut in the Sarore area of Samba district.
Acting on information about a potential drug hotspot, a police team conducted a raid and found Ajay living in the hut.
During the investigation, it was revealed that his wife had filed a missing person report at Gharota Police Station.
Ajay, reportedly a drug addict, was handed over to Bishnah Police Station for further inquiry. The circumstances of his stay in the hut remain unclear.
