LG urges artistic community to adopt four Resolutions for societal progress

Jammu: The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, paid tribute to the renowned journalist, writer, and social worker Pandit Haridutt Sharma, urging the literary and artistic community to embrace four resolutions in his honor.
Speaking at the prestigious "Pandit Haridutt Sharma Award" ceremony, LG emphasized collective efforts to uplift the underprivileged and marginalized sections of society.
“Our first resolution should be to work for the betterment of the downtrodden and needy. We must work collectively for the promotion of culture, literature, and yoga, capacity building of youth, and the development of a progressive, healthy, prosperous, and peaceful society,” he said.
In his address, LG outlined a vision for a progressive and harmonious society, calling on civil society members to actively promote culture, literature, and yoga.
He stressed the importance of empowering youth and fostering an environment of prosperity, health, and peace as a tribute to the enduring values of Pandit Haridutt Sharma.
The event recognized two distinguished personalities with the Pandit Haridutt Sharma Award. Dr. H.R. Nagendra, a globally renowned Yoga Guru and President of Vivekananda Yoga AnusandhanaSamsthana (VYASA), was lauded for his groundbreaking research and worldwide promotion of yoga. Prof. Ashok Chakradhar, an acclaimed author, poet, and painter, was celebrated for his exceptional contributions to literature, poetry, and cultural preservation.
Highlighting their achievements, the Lt Governor praised Dr. Nagendra’s extensive research contributions, including over 130 scientific publications, and commended Prof. Chakradhar’s inspiring literary and cultural work.
The Lt Governor also acknowledged the Pandit Haridutt Sharma Foundation for its efforts in honoring excellence across journalism, literature, education, and social service. He underscored the importance of recognizing those who dedicate themselves to the betterment of humanity. The ceremony reflected Pandit Haridutt Sharma’s enduring legacy, inspiring a commitment to build a compassionate and culturally vibrant society.
