Notice issued, asked to comply with registration norms
SRINAGAR: The Jammu & Kashmir Medical Council has issued a stern notice to private clinics, infertility centers, rehabilitation centers, de-addiction clinics, hospices, domiciliary care providers, mobile clinics, and other establishments across the Union Territory.
The council has raised concerns about unregistered practitioners operating in these facilities, which it considers a severe breach of professional ethics and legal regulations.
The notice emphasizes that all such establishments must ensure that doctors and medical practitioners, whether local or from outside J&K, possess valid permanent registration or additional qualification registration with the council. Operating without such registration violates rules and ethics, posing risks to patient safety and human lives.
The council has directed proprietors and managers of these establishments not to allow unregistered practitioners to conduct procedures, surgeries, investigations, or therapies. It further instructed them to advise such professionals to register through the council's official website.
Non-compliance with these directives will invite disciplinary action under the Professional Conduct, Etiquette, and Ethics Regulations, 2002.
To ensure wider dissemination of the directive, copies of the notice have been sent to the Health & Medical Education Department, the Director of Health Services, and other relevant authorities. Additionally, the council has sought publication of this notice in leading newspapers and electronic media outlets.
