Prez Murmu confers Bal Puraskar on Ayaan of Kashmir, Risheek of Jammu

Srinagar: President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday honored two exceptional young talents, Ayaan Sajad from Kashmir and Risheek Kumar Sharma from Jammu, with the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar at a grand ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Ayaan Sajad, a 12-year-old singing prodigy, received the award for his remarkable achievements in the Art and Culture category. Known for his soulful rendition of the Kashmiri classic “BeDard Dadi Chane”, originally penned by poet Shamas Fakeer, Ayaan has become a symbol of Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage. His ability to blend traditional and modern musical styles has captivated audiences across the nation. Recognized for his efforts to preserve and promote Kashmiri music among younger generations, Ayaan’s journey began with small performances, including one at the Achabal Open Mic, and has since blossomed into nationwide recognition.
Meanwhile, Risheek Kumar Sharma, a young innovator from Smailpur, Jammu, was honored in the Science and Technology category for his groundbreaking contributions to innovation.
Hailing from the native village of nationalist leader Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, Risheek has shown exceptional talent and leadership in scientific exploration. His pioneering projects have not only earned him this highest civilian honor for children but have also set a benchmark for excellence, inspiring youth across the country.
Expressing his gratitude, Risheek said, “I dedicate this award to my family, mentors, and supporters. I am committed to using my skills to serve the nation and continue striving for excellence in science and technology.”
