Govt ask officers to operate from Jammu by November 11

SRINAGAR: In a significant move aimed at ensuring efficient governance, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a government order directing all Administrative Secretaries and Union Territory level Heads of Departments to be physically present at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu from November 11.
The order, issued by the General Administration Department, emphasises the importance of senior officials’ availability for effective conduct of official business. “While they will continue to attend the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar as per functional requirements, their presence in Jammu is seen as crucial for streamlining administrative processes and ensuring timely decision-making,” it reads.
To facilitate the smooth functioning of the Civil Secretariat in Jammu, the Estates Department has been tasked with providing accommodation to officers and officials as required by the concerned Administrative Departments.
